Admissions & Eligibility

Who can apply to the GRUNI MD (MBBS) program, the documents you need, and how the process runs from first enquiry to your first day of class.

Who is eligible

The MD program is open to students who have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and who have qualified NEET. NEET is not optional for Indian students: the National Medical Commission requires it for anyone intending to study medicine abroad and return to practise in India. As a general guide, the academic bar is 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together for general-category students, and 40 percent for students in reserved categories, with a minimum age of 17 by the end of the admission year.

You do not need IELTS or TOEFL to enter the first year of the program. The University may conduct a short online interview as part of its review.

Documents to prepare

Having your paperwork ready keeps the process smooth. Most students need the following, with translations and attestations arranged as part of the India service.

Documents checklist

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • NEET scorecard
  • Valid passport, with at least the required validity
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Birth certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Police clearance, if requested
  • Apostille and translation of documents, arranged in India

Step by step

The admission process

  1. Enquiry and eligibility check

Share your NEET result and 12th marks with the India admissions office. The team confirms your eligibility and explains the current intake, fees, and timeline.

  2. Application to the University

Submit the completed application with your academic records and passport copy. GRUNI reviews the file and may hold a brief online interview.

  3. Offer and admission letter

On a successful review the University issues an invitation or admission letter, which sets out your place and the fees due.

  4. Visa and documentation

With the admission letter in hand, your student visa file is prepared, documents are apostilled and translated, and travel is planned for the intake.

  5. Arrival and registration

You travel to Tbilisi, complete university registration and residence formalities, move into hostel accommodation, and begin classes.

Intakes are generally offered around September and February. Confirm the exact dates for the current year with the admissions office.
